I am just a vintage SOUL
Old, distressed, worn, rustic, well loved and maybe even a little dirty. Those are the words I think of when I think of vintage. So..yeah... I'm getting kinda old, kinda distressed, worn out, rustic, my clothing often looks well loved and maybe even a little dirty. LOL! ha! So this blog post could totally be about me! Thank the Lord it's not. Thank the Lord it's just about paper and ink.
Ring Ring!
Vintage telephones are a cool thing. I remember plugging my little child finger into the circular number hole and swirling it all the way around. It was fun to me, like my finger was on a merry-go-round...until you had to start all over again. And who remembers touch lamps?..not that this is one but I played with those when I was younger until I drove my mom cray-cray! I think there are still a few of those things around.

A horse of the past
If ya'll know me, ya know my love for horses. Here is a Vintage postcard re-purposed into some eye-candy. This guy kinda reminds me of my old horse Chukka.

Saved
A card saved from my card front discard stack that lingers on my desk. I attempted no line coloring on kraft, didn't like it, set it aside and forgot about it. Went through the stack recently and "saved" these flowers. I think it could work as a wedding card? Idk... worth saving though. You should totally save something too.

The Wild Card-Inspired by Bobbie Sue
I just love Bobbie Sue's style and I wanted to try to use this classy lady in a simple way so that I can make sets of them as gifts to my snarky sisters. I used one of her examples to set the scene for this card. This one is a totally different take on vintage as far as the colors and feel. I am kinda diggin it.

ReplyDeleteYour cards are all fantastic! I especially love the phone and gossip & hot flashes one.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous creations. I
ReplyDeletelike the first card with
the telephone!
Carla from Utah
The phone card is my favorite of all your great cards. I love how you used bold black ink for the phone to highlight the image. Then the lamp is so fun to see with the blue and the matching frame. I love this layout!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards , love them all, the black and white one is stunning, and glad you saved the flowers, they are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteFantastic cards - especially the 'hot' one - such fun!
ReplyDeleteYou were a busy bee, missy!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome vintage cards!
I knew this would be your thing!!
Loving the last card the best!!
They are all good but my favorite is the phone and lamp. Everything old becomes new again.
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness, Jeanie!!! Each project is amazing! I love all the details of the 'ring ring' card and remember playing with those phones at my grandma's house. Very cool horse/frame project and love those flowers. It's always fun to 'revive' our neglected images and those pink flowers are amazing. It's a beautifully 'saved' recreation. And your snarky card is just precious. I love the sassy classy design and the snarky sentiment. Just wonderful projects. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are all beautiful. Love the blue & yellow color combo on the first card (and I grew up with a rotary phone!). I've always been a fan of black & white so the last card is my fave. Very pretty and designed perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThe phone and the lamp card is my favorite. We still have a dial phone in the basement! Works great till you have to press one for something! Ha Ha! Great cards!
ReplyDeleteWonderful variety of vintage style cards. I like the one with the telephone.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so beautiful, but I love the last one. First, because it's black and white. Second, because the sentiment is just perfect. Thank you for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely creations, but that first one with the telephone and lamp is my absolute favorite!
ReplyDeleteLOL had laugh about being worn out/rustic!
ReplyDeleteFantastic array of vintage cards Jeanie.....thanks for sharing your beautiful creations!
I love all 3 cards, but the last one takes the cake. Lol! I'll understand hot flashes one day I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards! I really love the phone and lamp! That one's my fave!
ReplyDeleteI love love love the phone card, and the hot flashes card!!!!! 😁😁😁
ReplyDeleteGreat projects but the phone is over the top!
ReplyDeleteLove your art for this hop!! I need to get a few on those stamps!
ReplyDeleteThe phone card is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAll your cards are beautiful Jeanie!! I love the gloss you got on the phone, the repurposed horse , the beautifully colored flowers and the black and white lady card. They are all sobpretty and so different!😊
ReplyDeleteCool cards and I do remember having to start all over again when I dialed a wrong number on the dial telephone. Since the numbers in our town started with 499, it seemed to take forever to dial anyone, lol.
ReplyDeleteJeanie, all of these are beautiful, but the one with the flowers from Girl Truly really made me say, 'wow.' Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards.
ReplyDeleteOh wow!
ReplyDeleteAll your cards are totally amazing!!! My favorite is your first one with the phone and lamp. Love so much the beautiful details!!!
All of your cards are just wonderful but my favorite is the rotary phone and lamp. I grew up with rotary phones and will never forget the feel of dialing...and the sound of the dial as it spun back around!
ReplyDeleteSo many great cards. I sorta miss the old rotary phones.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your cards and project! I have a pile of items that need saving too. I periodically pull from the pile and somehow mange to salvage part of it.
ReplyDeleteI loved touch lamps growing up! I really love your "I am just a vintage soul" card. The colors are perfect. The horse piece is lovely.
