Rainy Days
I am in a season of life that I hate rainy days. Rain means I'm stuck in the house with 3 kids who have way too much energy for one tired mama to handle. So... Anyways... It's raining right now and I've got two arguing downstairs over who knows what and my 4 year old just stole my star punch and is making a mess of stars on the floor. So I'll let her do that so I can type this blog for you. And later we'll just imagine that the floor is the night sky. 😵🌜🌌
Heart Times
I has been wanting this set for a while and found it on the Unity Swap group page. Yay! The umbrella is so darn cute.
#1 I used Tim Holtz distress inks framed out by masking with Washi tape. Lifting ink with water splatters make some decent looking rain I think.
#2 Some older Stampin' Up paper came in handy here. Nothing fancy; the paper does all the work.
#3 I wanted to try something new to me; to watercolor on vellum. The umbrella was embossed first and then I used Jane Davenport watercolors letting the water run and carry the color down the vellum.
I decided to lay it on top of some pretty floral paper by Nicole Love because ya know....flowers come after the rain. Some Unity Cinderella sequins added some sparkle.
I hope you have enjoyed this rainy day blog. The winner from last month is DanaM. Please email me at
jeaniehays00@yahoo.com to claim your prize.
Won't you hop and splash in all the blog puddles...

You made rain look so happy and sweet! You did a great job in making one stamp have several different looks. Thanks for making me smile!
ReplyDeleteAll three cards are great but my favorite is #1 . It is simple yet beautiful. I love your sharing about your kids lol. I am a grandma raising my 4 year old grandson and my youngest daughter who is 15yrs old. They fuss continuously and drive me crazy. He loves crafting with me and taking all my stuff. The struggle is real lol
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet and pretty cards. 💙 They would brighten any rainy day. Thank you for sharing them with us. 😊
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards! Love how you captured rain so diferently, yet effectively, on the 3 cards! The colors you used are just beautiful! That is a cute umbrella!

ReplyDeleteI’m the type that LOVES rainy days & storms! Lately though I’ve been dreading them, they’re not bringing the same joy during this season of my life. But anyway, I’d let my kids go wild in the rain! Why not?! I had to save my own sanity at times. Lol! Later when my youngest came along I’d encourage her to jump in every puddle so I could get photos. Ha! Good times. 😄
Three awesome cards!!
