GIU Day #2 County Fair Chicken

County Fair Chicken!

Day #2

This card was inspired by my yearly trip as a child to the County Fair. My favorite part was seeing all of the animals....even the show chickens. Plus...this spring we got some chicks from Tractor Supply and now have a flock of 10. Three of those are roosters. The stupid one is named Hei Hei. Then my son named the two others; Seth Jr. and Cluck Norris.


To challenge myself I wanted to do a double tag! I folded over the top of the larger Unity tag and attached the smaller using a brad. 

The sentiment hides behind this somewhat protective (New Day Rooster). Don't worry, you won't get flogged!! Lol!


I used a combination of ink and alcohol markers to color him. The background stamp is Unity's Chicken Wire. I just love it and use it for a lot of other projects.
Tim Holtz distress ink was perfect for the edges of the tag.

This is Hei Hei! My stupid but pretty chicken. He even pecked at the cell right after I took this pic. Maybe he's actually smart and was trying to call his cousin. Ha! Not sure if he's gonna end up on the dinner table one night or not. Just kidding. I can't kill him.

    This is one of my favorite little stamps. I have used it so many times ! And I love the sentiment! I love your multilayered tag and would like to do something like this. Great creativity

    I love the double tag idea and this is beautiful. I have to admit that I don't like chickens (and especially roosters) because I was always afraid they would peck me when I was small. I do however love the fresh eggs my two nieces sell and am glad they put up with the chickens.

    I have these two stamps and they are great! I don't use them often enough, well, because I have way too many stamps! lol I love, love, love the idea of hiding the sentiment (I do that in scrapbooking all the time). Gorgeous card and a gorgeous chicken, too!! (My kitchen theme is roosters; I love them!).

    When I was a teen, neighbors had a rooster who would spike me every time he saw me! He DID end up in the stew pot (and served him right!) Great tag! Love the idea.

      I went out to water them just a little bit ago and Hei Hei pecked the crud outta me. He's gonna end up on the chopping block if he keeps it up. He even drew blood.

    Absolutely awesome. Love this idea! Funny thing is my daughter has 30 or so chickens and the one rooster was named Lil Red and another was named Ree Ree cause it was a little simpleton lol! Love your tag!

    OH MY GOODNESS!!! I'm in love with your tag. I have a thing for chickens and roosters....it's my kitchen theme. I'd do the whole upstairs in chickens and roosters if I could get away with it...lol. This is totally a tag after my heart ♥
